Year 5 and 6 French Cultural Links

Alongside the children’s language learning in their weekly lessons, we believe there is enormous value in the development of cultural awareness through establishing links with schools in France and French speaking countries further afield.

In Year 5, the children have a link with Year 5 in our Partner school in Tunisia, Ecole Robert Desnos. At the end of the Autumn term, they produced some posters describing in French what they eat for a special celebration meal in their family.

In Year 6 we have a new link with a school in Agon-Coutainville in Normandy, France, Collège les Embruns. We exchanged Christmas cards and will be working this term on a project to compare and describe our uniform and the French children’s clothes worn in school.
