OFSTED INSPECTION REPORT 2016

We are very pleased that the school was judged as Outstanding in every category in our recent Osfted inspection.  The quotes below give you a small flavour of the full report:

The school has an unyielding culture of high expectations for every pupil.

 

Outstanding teaching over time has resulted in excellent achievement for pupils in reading, writing and mathematics.

 

Pupils make outstanding progress, and their confidence flourishes academically and socially….  They are thoughtful, highly motivated and successful learners.

 

Pupils achieve exceptionally well across the school. By the time they leave Year 6, the progress they have made and the standards they have reached are significantly above national averages.

academic Headlines

  • The academic profile of the school remains very strong, with results from every phase of the school very much above national benchmarks in all subjects.
  • Early Years results continue to rise, particularly at the exceeding levels.
  • Results from the phonics check at the end of year 1 are very strong.
  • Results at the end of year 2 maintained very high levels and performance at the higher standard is of particular note
  • Results at the end of year 6 remain very strong, with consistently very high progress scores and performance at the higher standard

Analysis of the foundation stage profile results shows strong further improvements over last year’s results in all early learning goals.  The proportion of children reaching exceeding level remains high across early learning goals with a broad profile of high attainment at the exceeding well above national levels:

End Year 1 Phonics Screening

The check is designed to identify if pupils have reached an expected standard in their phonic decoding (a key building block in learning to read).

Results in the phonics screening are exceptionally strong.  96% of pupils achieved the expected standard at an average score of 37 out of 40.  These results are very much above the expected levels nationally.

 

Key Stage 1 SATs

Assessment results at the end of year 2 in 2018 were exceptionally strong and ahead of national.

Of particular significance is the performance of children at the higher greater depth standard, which was very significantly ahead of the national benchmarks for all subjects and for the subjects combined.

Key Stage 2 SATs

Attainment at the expected standard in 2018 was above that of 2017 overall, with 86% reaching the “secondary school ready” benchmark (reading/writing/maths at expected standard), very much above the national benchmark.
